The Breakfast Club is a 1985 John Hughes cult drama about five very different high school students on Saturday. As Kaya Plaka said in her review, the film has "enough emotion to leave a sweet taste in your mouth without overwhelming you with its kitsch." Perhaps that is why the Breakfast Club is still talked about and watched. Surprisingly, this is an eternal classic, loved by different generations. There has been much debate about whether this classic should be remastered. In fact, Judd Nelson and Molly Ringwald, who played John and Claire respectively, have stated that the Breakfast Club reboot won't work for a number of reasons.

That being said, the film could benefit from a remake of The Breakfast Club because it contains some toxic footage. The way John "sexually pursues Claire throughout the movie" is disturbing, Ringwald said candidly. Therefore, changes can correct these errors. The question is, who should play whom?

Carl Reed - Christian Bale

Carl's character may not appear often in the film, but his little screen time allows him to show just how smart he is. Carl, played by John Capelas, is the school janitor and seems to be the only adult who can understand what these teenagers are going through. He seems to know all the worries and secrets and is a fly on the wall. Carl's friendship with Brian is definitely a good thing because it allows Carl to focus on more important things. The most important thing about Carl is that he is the main antagonist of the film, opposite the famous director Richard Vernon. Christian Bale may have played psychopaths and villains, but he has shown himself to be a much more kind and compassionate actor. Considering how Belle's facial features are, Carl would be perfect for the role.

Richard Vernon, Ralph Fiennes

Like Paul Gleason, Vernon is the king of bullies. Taking care of high school students sounds like fun. As the film progresses, it becomes clear that Vernon is not only a powerful man, but also a villain. The way he binds and threatens John shows how he wields his power over these teenagers. Also, Varno himself seems to be breaking the rules to hurt these students. Everything is done in honor of Shakti. If Ralph Fiennes is a good actor who can accurately portray the cold nature of villains, then he could be the perfect Richard Vernon. Interestingly, Fiennes is known for his role as Voldemort in the Harry Potter series , where he has to terrorize a high school student. In addition, the Slavic nature of the cook shows that he can suppress the emotions of people in the kitchen and continue to act cold. So Fiennes could make Richard Vernon stronger and more tyrannical.

Alison Stephanie X

Alison is considered a "danger" and is portrayed as a social underdog. He hides his face under his hair, wears black and looks salty. Alison didn't edit during the film and she was there because she had nothing else to do. Despite being ignored by her parents, Alison tries to escape and takes her bag of clothes and many other things. It is interesting that this particular character does not speak at first, but gradually begins to participate in the conversation. It's sad to see Andre turn to the perfect woman at the end of the film to understand her. She is played by Ally Sheedy, who does a great job as "crazy" Alison. Stephanie Mann could have played Alison better because she suddenly finds herself rebelling against everything, everywhere . Xu is an underrated actor who can definitely play some serious roles.

Andrew-Tom Holland

Andrew is an "athlete" so he is a typical high school jock. The rape of someone else's "weak" child is grounds for imprisonment. However, the bully reveals that the only reason he is annoying is to get his father's approval, which upsets Andrea. Tom Holland makes the perfect modern remake of Andrew for many reasons. Holland previously played a high school student on Spider-Man . Peter Parker's kindness can easily be transferred to Andrew's performance. She is known for her roles as Jack Holland in films such as The Cherry and The Charter. These films allowed Holland to portray physically strong characters, resulting in an increase in Andrew's physical strength. Andrew was originally played by Emilio Estevez.

Claire Anya Taylor Joy

Originally played by Molly Ringwald, Claire is the typical "princess" or popular high school student. She is very focused on her appearance and her "real and kind" personality and comes from a wealthy family. But like the other four, Claire has a difficult relationship with her parents. It is seen in the film that she has a complicated relationship with John and that they end up together. Unfortunately, this relationship is very toxic in itself because John doesn't always make her comfortable. Anya Taylor-Joy could do justice to Claire by adding a more feminine look to the character. Taylor-Joy plays a strong female character who takes on male bullies. In addition, Claire manages to capture the combination of her appearance and character.

Which classic 80's movie will be the next comeback of the Relatives?

Brian Lucas Hedges

Brian seems to be a successful student. But he cannot go through the "workshop" on his own, so he fights on his own. Brian, played by Anthony Michael Hall, is the "brains" of the group. Brian tried to commit suicide by "shooting himself" while checking in at the store. Luckily, the group allows Brian to be vulnerable and enjoy his imprisonment. After all, he is known as the narrator of the film and a noble character. Lucas Hedges will be the perfect Brian after once playing a handsome and innocent boy in Lady Bird . His shy appearance makes it easy to win people's hearts.

John Austin Butler

John, the "criminal" of the group, probably has a very difficult family life. This made him "strong", causing him to hurt others. John constantly quarrels with Vernon, and for good reason. This is a hero oppressed by adults, so the viewer immediately sympathizes with him. He is hated by the audience for some of his actions, for the way he attacks Claire and hurts others like Brian. In this way, Judd Nelson was able to create a complex relationship between John and the audience. Austin Butler had already demonstrated Elvis Presley's ability to play complex roles in Elvis, John's beloved and hated character was the perfect balance.
